LORETTO, Tenn. — Loretto High School has announced plans for its 2026 Homecoming celebration, with a full week of spirit days, class competitions, community activities, a Homecoming parade, Powderpuff football and the annual Homecoming Dance.

Homecoming Week will run October 19–23, with the festivities extending into Saturday, October 24.

The week begins Monday, October 19, with no school for students. Parent-teacher conferences will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Students will return Tuesday for a week of themed dress-up days. Tuesday, October 20, is Decades Day, giving students a chance to dress in the style of their favorite decade. Wednesday, October 21, is Superhero vs. Villain Day, while Thursday, October 22, is Cast and Crew Day, with groups encouraged to dress as characters or crew members from a favorite movie, television show or franchise.

Friday, October 23, will be Color Wars, with each grade wearing its assigned class color: freshmen in white, sophomores in gray, juniors in gold and seniors in black.

Homecoming Care Drive and Class Competitions

The LHS Student Government Association will also sponsor a Homecoming Care Drive throughout the week. Each donated item will earn one class spirit point.

Freshmen are being asked to bring canned ravioli, SpaghettiOs or deodorant; sophomores can donate canned chili or body wash; juniors can bring canned tuna or shampoo; and seniors can donate canned chicken or bar soap.

Students should turn donations in to their designated class teachers: Harriman for freshmen, M. Curtis for sophomores, Bitting for juniors and B. Marks for seniors.

Students may also collect can tabs for additional Homecoming points, with tabs being turned in to those same class teachers.

Another competition will benefit St. Jude Children's Hospital. Buckets representing each class will be available in the library throughout the day and in the cafeteria during lunch. Students can contribute change or bills, with the class raising the most money earning spirit points.

Homecoming Parade Set for Thursday

One of the week's biggest community events will take place Thursday, October 22, with the Loretto High School Homecoming Parade.

Lineup will begin at LHS at 4:15 p.m., with the parade scheduled to start at 5:00 p.m.

The parade will begin at the LHS student parking lot, travel north on Second Avenue, turn right onto Commerce Street, then turn right onto Main Street at Weathers Park before ending at Loretto Telecom.

Powderpuff Football Follows the Parade

Immediately following the parade, students will take the field for Powderpuff Football, beginning at approximately 6:00 p.m.

The opening game will feature the freshmen against the juniors, followed by sophomores against seniors. A third game will match the losing teams from the first two contests. The championship game between the two winning teams will be played Friday during school.

Players and cheerleaders participating Thursday must be on the field and checked in with Mrs. Bitting by 5:45 p.m., and all required waivers must be signed and turned in before participating.

Homecoming Dance Caps Off the Celebration

The festivities will conclude Saturday, October 24, with the 2026 Loretto High School Homecoming Dance.

This year's theme is “Lights. Camera. Action.” The dance will be held from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m.

Tickets are $20 per person or $30 per couple, and semi-formal attire is requested. Students will be required to sign in and sign out at the door.

With spirit competitions, community service projects, a parade, Powderpuff football and the Homecoming Dance all on the schedule, Loretto High School is preparing for a busy week celebrating Mustang pride and the 2026 Homecoming season.
