Loretto Basketball Schedules Released for 2026-27 Season
LORETTO — Basketball season is just around the corner, and the 2026-27 schedules have been released for the Loretto High School Lady Mustangs and Mustangs.
Both teams are scheduled to open the season at home on Tuesday, Nov. 17, against Moore County. The Lady Mustangs will tip off at 6 p.m., followed by the Mustangs at approximately 7:30 p.m.
The schedules feature a mix of longtime rivals, non-district matchups, Alabama opponents and holiday tournament action before district play begins in January.
Here is a date-by-date look at the upcoming season:
Nov. 17 — Moore County, Home: Loretto opens the season at home, with the girls scheduled for 6 p.m. and the boys at 7:30 p.m.
Nov. 19 — Smith County, Away: The first road trip of the season sends both teams to Smith County. The girls are scheduled for 5 p.m. and the boys for 6:30 p.m.
Nov. 21 — Columbia Central, Away: Loretto remains on the road with a Saturday matchup against Columbia Central. The girls tip at 5 p.m., followed by the boys at 6:30 p.m.
Nov. 23–25 — TG Tourney, Cornersville: The Mustangs will take part in the TG Tourney in Cornersville. This is a boys-only event, with the schedule currently listing Nov. 23 at 7:30 p.m. as the opening date.
Nov. 27 — Muscle Shoals, Away: Both teams travel to Alabama following Thanksgiving to face Muscle Shoals. The girls are scheduled for 6 p.m. and the boys for 7:30 p.m.
Dec. 1 — Richland, Away: December begins with a road matchup at Richland. Girls tip at 6 p.m., with the boys following at 7:30 p.m.
Dec. 11 — Lawrence County, Away: Loretto makes the short trip to Lawrenceburg for the first of two meetings with Lawrence County. The girls play at 6 p.m. and the boys at 7:30 p.m.
Dec. 18 — Wayne County, Home: The Lady Mustangs and Mustangs return home to host Wayne County, beginning with the girls at 6 p.m. and boys at 7:30 p.m.
Dec. 19 — Moore County, Away: One night later, Loretto travels to Moore County for the second meeting of the season. Tip times are 6 p.m. for the girls and 7:30 p.m. for the boys.
Dec. 21 — Richland, Home: Loretto hosts Richland in the return matchup, with the girls at 6 p.m. and boys at 7:30 p.m.
Dec. 22 — Sheffield, Home: The pre-Christmas stretch concludes with Sheffield visiting Loretto. Girls are scheduled for 6 p.m. and boys for 7:30 p.m.
Dec. 28–29 — Loretto Christmas Classic, Home: Holiday basketball returns to Loretto with the Loretto Christmas Classic. The event is scheduled for Dec. 28–29, with additional tournament details and matchups to be announced.
Jan. 5 — Deshler, Away: The first game of 2027 sends both teams to Deshler, Alabama. The Lady Mustangs are scheduled for 6 p.m., followed by the Mustangs at 7:30 p.m.
Jan. 8 — Cascade, Home: District play begins at home against Cascade. The girls tip at 6 p.m. and the boys at 7:30 p.m.
Jan. 12 — Lawrence County, Home: The Wildcats come to Loretto for the second Lawrence County matchup of the season. Girls play at 6 p.m. and boys at 7:30 p.m.
Jan. 15 — Community, Home: District action continues with Community visiting Loretto. The girls are scheduled for 6 p.m. and boys for 7:30 p.m.
Jan. 19 — Summertown, Home: One of the area's most familiar matchups returns when Summertown visits Loretto for a district doubleheader. The girls tip at 6 p.m. and boys at 7:30 p.m.
Jan. 22 — Forrest, Home: The January home stand continues against district opponent Forrest, beginning with the girls at 6 p.m. and the boys at 7:30 p.m.
Jan. 29 — Cascade, Away: Loretto begins the second trip through the district schedule on the road at Cascade. Game times are 6 p.m. for the girls and 7:30 p.m. for the boys.
Feb. 2 — Mars Hill, Home: The final scheduled home date has Loretto welcoming Mars Hill, Alabama. The Lady Mustangs play at 6 p.m., followed by the Mustangs at 7:30 p.m.
Feb. 5 — Community, Away: The final stretch of district road games begins at Community, with the girls at 6 p.m. and boys at 7:30 p.m.
Feb. 9 — Summertown, Away: Loretto travels to nearby Summertown for the second district meeting between the teams. Girls tip at 6 p.m. and boys at 7:30 p.m.
Feb. 12 — Forrest, Away: The currently listed regular-season schedule concludes with a district road game at Forrest. The girls are scheduled for 6 p.m. and the boys for 7:30 p.m.
