The Loretto Junior High Mustangs picked up another win Thursday night, defeating Waynesboro 20-6 and improving to 3-2 overall on the season.

Loretto took control early, holding an 8-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. Waynesboro got on the scoreboard before halftime, but the Mustangs answered to carry a 14-6 advantage into the break.

Defense took over during the third quarter, with neither team adding to the scoreboard as Loretto maintained its 14-6 lead heading into the final period.

The Mustangs added another touchdown in the fourth quarter to extend their advantage and put the game away, finishing off the 20-6 victory.

The win moves Loretto to 3-2 on the season as the Mustangs continue to build momentum through the middle portion of their schedule.

Loretto will return to action Tuesday night when the Mustangs host E.O. Coffman. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
