Quick fixes

↻

Refresh the screen

Use pull-to-refresh where available, then close and reopen the app if content still appears outdated.

⌁

Check your connection

Switch between Wi-Fi and cellular data. Public content and Alerts History require an internet connection to update.

Update the app

Open the App Store, search for We Are Loretto, and install any available update before reporting a problem.

⏻

Restart the iPhone

A restart can resolve temporary notification, network, or display issues caused by iOS.

Notification troubleshooting

If no app alerts arrive

  1. Open the app and go to More → App Notifications.
  2. Confirm the desired categories are enabled: Community Alerts, Community News, Food Trucks, or LHS & SLS Sports Final Scores.
  3. Open the iPhone Settings app, select Notifications → We Are Loretto, and confirm Allow Notifications is enabled.
  4. Confirm Focus or Do Not Disturb is not delaying the notification.
  5. Open We Are Loretto while connected to the internet so Firebase can refresh the device registration and topic subscriptions.
Important: Notification delivery also depends on Apple Push Notification service, Firebase, internet connectivity, iOS settings, and whether an alert was sent to a category enabled on your device.

Alerts History

Alerts History is located on the Home screen directly below Loretto Weather. It contains alerts that administrators have made visible in the public archive.

  • Pull down on Alerts History to request the latest archive.
  • Tap an alert to open the full alert inside the app.
  • A related WeAreLoretto.com page may be available from the alert detail.
  • An administrator may hide or permanently delete an older alert, so a previously visible item may no longer appear.
  • A push notification already delivered to the iPhone cannot be removed from Notification Center by deleting its history entry.

Weather or community content will not load

  • Confirm the iPhone has a working internet connection.
  • Pull to refresh, where the screen supports it.
  • Close and reopen the app.
  • Check whether WeAreLoretto.com opens in Safari.
  • If only Loretto Weather is affected, try again later; the weather provider or Apple WeatherKit may be temporarily unavailable.
  • If an in-app webpage appears blank, use the page’s reload control or reopen that feature from the app.

What to include in a problem report

Please send as many of these details as possible:

  • iPhone model.
  • iOS version.
  • We Are Loretto app version and build number.
  • The screen or feature affected.
  • What you expected to happen and what actually happened.
  • Steps that reproduce the issue.
  • A screenshot or screen recording, when appropriate.
  • Approximate date and time of a missing notification.
