The South Lawrence Lady Stallions have put together an impressive run through tournament play, sweeping every opponent they have faced and earning the District 8 Championship.

South Lawrence opened tournament action Friday against Collinwood and wasted little time setting the tone. The Lady Stallions rolled to a 2-0 victory, winning 25-5 and 25-4 to advance.

The tournament run continued Saturday against Leoma. South Lawrence once again came away with a straight-set victory, defeating Leoma 25-10 and 25-12.

Later Saturday, the Lady Stallions faced Summertown and continued their strong play with another 2-0 win, taking the sets 25-17 and 25-10.

South Lawrence and Summertown met again in the District 8 South Championship, with the Lady Stallions earning another sweep. South Lawrence won the first set 25-15 before holding off Summertown 25-23 in the second.

The Lady Stallions returned to their home floor for the next round of tournament action, opening against Culleoka. South Lawrence turned in another dominant performance, winning 25-6 and 25-13 to advance to the championship match.

That set up yet another meeting with Summertown, and this one proved to be the closest contest of the tournament so far. South Lawrence battled to a 26-24 victory in the opening set before pulling away for a 25-15 win in the second to claim the District 8 Championship.

Through tournament play, South Lawrence has won all six matches in straight sets, going a perfect 12-0 in sets.

The Lady Stallions' season now moves on to sectional play. South Lawrence will host the sectional Friday, with the opponent and game time still to be announced.
